On April 28, the grand ceremony celebrating the 100th anniversary of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the National Commendation Conference for Model Workers and Advanced Workers was held in Beijing, where 2,426 National Model Workers and Advanced Workers were honored. Ding Weiyun has always worked at the forefront of technological innovation, leading his team in the development of multiple series of heavy-duty commercial vehicles, including the New Yellow River, HOWO, T7H and SITRAK. Under his leadership, the company has maintained the number one market share in China’s commercial vehicle industry for many years, with products sold in more than 110 countries and regions worldwide. In the development of the next-generation Yellow River long-haul logistics tractor, he achieved 93.6% mechanical efficiency for the powertrain's drivetrain, with a drag coefficient of the heavy-duty truck as low as 0.286. He spearheaded the development of intelligent connected chassis and drive-by-wire technologies, enabling remote intelligent operation monitoring for heavy-duty trucks and achieving the world’s first large-scale deployment of autonomous container trucks. Supported by major national R&D projects, he led his team in overcoming key technical challenges in the development of high-strength, high-toughness QT700 cast iron and lightweight frame technologies, successfully achieving a curb weight of under 7.8 tons for a mass-produced 6×4 heavy-duty truck compliant with National VI Vehicle Emission Standards, reaching internationally advanced benchmarks.
